mweqIstra è una mwegcittadina della mwewRussia europea centrale (mwfaoblast' di Mosca), situata 58 mwfqkm a mwfgovest della mwfwcapitale sulle sponde del mwgafiume omonimo; fino al 2017 era il capoluogo amministrativo del mwgqdistretto omonimo.
Secondo il censimento del 2021, Istra ha una popolazione di mwgw37 474 abitanti.cite-ref-1[1]
Viene fondata nel mwiq1589 con il nome di mwigVoskresenskoe (Воскресенское), dal nome della chiesa chiamata mwiwVoskresenija Christova (Воскресения Христова, in russo mwjadella mwjqresurrezione di Cristo); nel mwjg1781 ottenne lo mwjwmwkastatus di città venendo rinominata mwkqVoskresensk. Risale al mwkg1930 l'ultima ridenominazione che la portò al nome attuale, derivatole dal nome del fiume che la bagna.
Istra è un centro prevalentemente mwlaindustriale (alimentari, mobili). Degno di nota il mwlqMonastero Nuova Gerusalemme.
Il nome non ha alcun legame con l'mwlwIstria.
